Provide solutions for government managers to promote cultural intelligence in international affairs

Abstract:
Global economy, international relations and political changes intensify the importance of successful across cultural interactions. Many organizations in 21st. century are multi-cultural and the studies indicate that the overseas missions are rarely failed according to the deficiency of technical and vocational competencies, but they are lost because of the lack of cultural intelligence. Cultural intelligence is the most important tool which can be used to face appropriately with the multi-cultural positions. It will enable us to present the behaviors compatible with any of them, through fast and accurate understanding the different cultural factors. In this research we will try to find the solutions to promote this competency in the governmental managers dealing with international affairs. In this study a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods has been applied. To answer the main question of the research, that is finding the solutions to promote the cultural intelligence, 20 governmental managers dealing with international affairs were selected through the snowball sampling method. The main utility of collecting the data was interview; and we have used the content analyze method and Shannon anthropy technique for data analysis. Furthermore, applying the cultural intelligence four factor questionnaires and the correlation method, we have evaluated the relations of cultural intelligence dimensions, position (comparative) of these proportions and ranking them amongst 140 employees of the ministry of Foreign Affairs as the most important governmental organization in our country in across cultural interactions.
