Effects of Thiourea thiourea on dormancy breaking on theand and yyield production of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) minitubers of Agria cv cultivar in the glasshouse

Abstract:
This experiment was conducted for to studying the effects of Thiourea thiourea application effect on dormancy break ofpotato minitubers dormancy breaking in Agria cultivar of poatato in the glasshouse in 006. Thiourea was used at in three levels as 0, 0.5, and % solutions using arranged in a cCompletely rRandomized dDesign within three replicates. After breaking the dormancy of minitubers breaking, attributes characters like as days to sprouting, length of the longest sprout, and sprout numbers were measured. Then, minitubers planted in pots and characters such as days to emergence, main stem numbers, and plant height were measured. Tuber numbers per plant, yield and mean tuber weight per plant was also calculated after at harvestharvesting. The rResults of variance analysis displayed showed that thiourea affected all attributes, significantly all attributes significantly. Application of ying % thiourea decreased shortened duration of days to sprouting date from 60 to 6 days, increased sprout numbers from. 8 to. sprouts, increasing accelerated sprout length from. 8 to. cm, decreased shortened days to emergence from 60 to 9 days, increasing increased stem numbers from. to. , increased lengthened plant height at least 0.6 cm, increased increased tuber numbers per plant from 5 to 9, decreased mean tuber weight per plant at least about. gm gr and increased enhanced total tuber weight per plant from 8 to 0 gmgr. Therefore, application of ying % thiourea is advisable for breaking recommendable for minitubers dormancy of potatobreaking for a short time and consequently because of its effect on rapid dormancy breaking, resulted in rapid emergence, and increasmoreing minituber numbers per plant and higher increasing tuber yield in Agria minituber Agria variety as compared with the non-treated productionminitubers.
