The effectivness of cognitive behavioral stress management therapy on marital satisfaction in infertile women.

Interoduction:Infertility is a major negative event in life which lead to mental problems and emotional stressor exprinces.The purpose of this study was to examin the effectivness of cognitive behavioral stress management (CBSM) therapy on marital satisfaction in infertile women referring to Infertility and Gynecology Clinics in Yazd city. This is a quasi experimental study whit a pretest-post test randomiszed group design with follow-up phase.24 infertile women referring to Infertility and Gynecology Clinics in Yazd city(in summer 2009)was selected by using in available sampling and randomly assigned to tow expriment and control group(12 women in each group).The expriment group received CBSM therapy for 10 weekly sessions. Data were gathered by using Enrich Marital Satisfaction and demographic characteristics questionnaires. data were analyzed by using SPSS-15 in tow levels, including: descriptive statistic and analysis of covariaty. The finding showed that mean scores of marital satisfaction in experiment group has increased significantly in comparison with the control group. P=0/000 Concelusion:Results suggest that CBSM therapyis effective on marital satisfaction in infertile women. By knowing the efectiveness of mental interventions,should have attention to psychological treatment in this group of patients.
