The Effects of Different Sources and Levels of Prebiotic on Blood Metabolites, Toe Ash and Gut Morphology of Broiler Chicks

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of different sources and levels of prebiotic (Fermacto، Immunowall) in broiler chick diets on the blood serum biochemical variables such as glucose، total protein، albumin، calcium and phosphorus، toe ash and also characteristics of the ileum mucose layer such as height of villi، depth of crypts. At the beginning of the study 280 day-old Ross 308 broiler chicks allocated to seven treatments and four replications in a randomized complete block design. Treatments were 1) 0 %، 2) 0. 10 % Fermacto in starter and 0. 05 % in grower and finisher، 3) 0. 20 % Fermacto in starter and 0. 10 % in grower and finisher، 4) 0. 30 % Fermacto in starter and 0. 15 % in grower and finisher، 5) 0. 10 % Immunowall in starter and 0. 05 % in grower and finisher، 6) 0. 20 % Immunowall in starter and 0. 10 % in grower and finisher and 7) 0. 30 % Immunowall in starter and 0. 15 % in grower and finisher. Serum biochemical factors had different responses to different levels and sources of prebiotic. Glucose، albumin and phosphorus were not significantly affected by the treatments. Serum total protein in the control group was lower than other treatments (P<0. 05). The level of calcium among treatments was significantly different (P<0. 05). Treatments affected toe ash significantly (P<0. 05). No differences were observed among treatments in villi height and depth of ileum crypts. From this study it could be deduced that diets with prebiotic had better results than the diets having no prebiotic. Treatments with the level of 0. 10 % prebiotic in starter and 0. 05 % in grower and finisher، had better results than the treatments with other levels of prebiotic.
