The U.S. Economic Sanctions Against Iran:Is Sanction Effective?

after the triumph of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the U.S. tried constantly to halter this revolutionary and new established regime through using different tools and to prevent it from evolution to a powerful regional actor. In order to reach this target, one of U.S.most important tools has been numerous economic sanctions which have imposed tremendous economic costs on both sides. Nevertheless it seems that the sanctions policy have failed in this period because the Islamic Republic of Iran has made no changes in her general and ivotal policies and keeps on to her economic and technologicaladvancement. The failure of this U.S. policy has roots in several actors the most important of which are the nature, methods and the nilateralism of these sanctions and the misunderstanding of the value centered nature of the Islamic Republic policy-making process.
