Quality of Life in Aleopecia Areata patients

Abstract:
Introduction
Aleopcia Areata is an unsign chronic disease with usually round hairloss areas. Obvious changes due to this disease and abnormal hairloss may tends to more restrictions in social freedom and decrease in quality of life. This study is designed to investigate the effect of Aleopecia Areata on quality of life in Bandar Abbas, Iran.
Methods
In this case-control study, patients of confirmed Aleopecia Areata disease referred to Shahid Mohammadi hospital dermatology clinic were selected as cases and for each case one age, sex and education matched control was assign as control. Severity of the disease by using Oslen/Canfield method, size of disease involvement, and other demographic characteristics were cottected and quality of life was evaluated by using WHOQL/BREF questionnaire. Data were analysed by SPSS software using descriptive methods and Chi-Square and t tests.
