Need Assessment Status in Educational Planning Process

Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to introduce the position of need assessment and its relationship to study & educational planning process and in fact to answer the question of whether need assessment is regarded as a phase in educational planning process. The method of study in this article is based on library that the application of internet, specialized related websites and articles is applied as research method to this article. The accomplished studies and researches in this area demonstrate the necessity of need assessment in study & educational planning process. The allocated limited budgets to education in many countries assert this necessity. Although the importance of need assessment is evident, it is not properly taken into the consideration. Educationists and researchers have conclude that the status of need assessment in all stages of planning process including planning, designing and performance can be reviewed on the bases of a comprehensive policy. Need assessment can be considered as a process or procedure possessing a clear framework and logic in each phases of planning process.
