Effect of Transactional and Transformational Leadership Styles upon Work Ethics

The present study examined the effect of transactional and transformational leadership styles upon work ethics in the province of Sari; therefore, 250 members of the staff were selected through random, stratified sampling among from a larger statistical population of 650 individuals. The research tools involved Barak transactional and transformational leadership styles questionnaire which was responded to, by 43 school managers and a standardized questionnaire on work ethics designed by Iraj Soltani (with the inter-rater reliability of 0/802 using Cronbach's alpha test) which was replied to, by 210 school teachers. The results which were analyzed by both descriptive and inferential statics indicate that there’s no significant difference between males’ and females’ transactional and transformational leadership styles. The same result was obtained between the educational background and job duration with work ethics; what’s more, educational back ground and job duration don’t affect the transactional and transformational leadership styles; however, women have a higher level of work ethics and significant difference was observed with this regard between male and female participants.
