The relationship between department's chairmen's emotional intelligence and self- efficacy in Islamic Azad University Branches (district 10

The purpose of the study was to explore the relationship between emotional intelligence and self- efficiency. The study used the descriptive (correlation) method of data collection. The participants in this study were 83 chairmen (female = 13, male = 70) at Islamic Azad University Branches (district 10). Two instruments were used to collect data. The emotional intelligence was measured by the Bar-on and the departments chairmen's self-efficacy was measured by one self- designed questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using the Pearson product-moment correlation technique, T test, ANOVA and multiple regressions. The major findings were as follows: 1) A significant relationship between total chairmen's emotional intelligence and self- efficiency. 2) A significant relationship between two dimensions of chairmen's emotional intelligence (motivation, empathy) and self-efficacy. 3) No significant relationship between three dimensions oh chairmen's emotional intelligence (self-awerance, self-managing, social skills) and self-efficacy. 4) The multiple regression analysis indicated that motivation is a significant predictor of self-efficacy.
