The Relationship between Research Behaviour and entrepreneurship among academic staff of Islamic Azad University, Roudehen Branch

Regarding the significant role of knowledge-based entrepreneurship in innovation and converting the research results into products and services, it is imperative to train entrepreneurs in universities. The main purpose of the present study was to investigate the answer to following question: is there any relationship between research behaviour and entrepreneurship among academic staff in Islamic Azad University (IAU) Roudehen Branch? To this end, a survey method was used to collect data and find the relationship between variables. Theoretical issues and literature review were also carried out through a library research together with benefiting from the university’s research data base. The population of the study consisted of all the faculty members (N=325) of IAU Roudehen Branch. The research instruments were a researcher-designed questionnaire for research behaviour and the entrepreneurship questionnaire. The results of multivariate regression indicated that there was no relationship between research behaviour (Dependant variable) and entrepreneurship (Independent variable) among university professors in Islamic Azad University (IAU) Roudehen Branch. There was no significant difference between the male and female professors in this respect. Also, no relationship was found between their research behaviour and academic degrees.
