A Performance Evaluation of Applied Scientific Centers(APC)of Central Province of Iran based on EFQM

Evaluation systems have found their path towards improving excellent organizations. Performance evaluation will help finding strengths and weaknesses of organizations in order to have an efficient use of resources. The purpose of present research was to evaluate the performance of Applied Scientific Centers (APC) of Central Province of Iran by use of EFQM model. This descriptive survey included all 15 APCs in the Central Province. Instrumentation to collect data required was a standard questionnaire of EFQM based on 5 variables, namely: strategies, staff management, resources, processes, and leadership. The questionnaire, therefore, had 86 items with a scale of 10 for each. The questionnaire was distributed among 250 staff members as the sample population selected randomly. Data collected was analyzed by use of SPSS. The study showed a desirable performance in the Centers regarding the mean and standard deviation for each variable: Strategies with 8.34 and 1.09; Leadership with 8.62 and 1.24; Staff Management with 8.03 and 1.84; Resources with 8.12 and 1.52; Processes with 8.13 and 1.68; Regarding the results of the analysis, it could be said that the APCs are in good position in terms of their performances.
