A Comparison of personality Traits and Mental Health Among Women and Men Heart-Renal Patient in Shahid Faghihi Hospital in Shiraz

The aim of the present study is the evaluation and comparison of personality traits and mental health among women and men heart and renal patient.The research method was Ex-post facto research.In the study 140 people were randomly selected from the patients referring to the hospital (70 heart patients and 70 renal patients) and also 70 healthy individuals with age,sex,education,job and marital status were matched.The selection method was chunk sampling.The research tools consisted of 3 inventory, personality traits (NEO),personality type A,B and mental health(GHQ) questionnaires which were distributed between all samples and necessary data was collected and analyzed.Also,in the deductive statistics section,variance analysis and t test in dependent was used.The result regression showed that among different dimensions of personality traits, neuroticism were significant difference in heart patients,in renal patients and in healthy individuals but personality traits extraversion,openness,conscientiousness and agreeableness weren’t significant difference in heart patients,in renal patients and in healthy individuals and among different dimensions of personality traits,neuroticism dimension were significant difference in women and men heart patient and women neuroticism dimension higher than men also weren’t significant difference in mental health women and men renal patient and also weren’t significant difference in mental health women and men heart patient and also neuroticism dimension were significant difference in women and men heart patient then women neuroticism dimension higher than men.
