Family-Oriented Approach to Developmental Crime Prevention

Abstract:
Developmental prevention as a division of social prevention aims to prevent child and juvenile's delinquency by applying protective elements and early interventions which affect risk factors. One of the most important approaches of this prevention is family-oriented one, which tries to recognize risk factors and supportive family-related elements, so that by applying the latter reduce the affection of the risk factors; i.e. preventing the subsequent criminality of the juveniles and childrenIn the approach, elements such as poverty, inability of training, poor parents supervision, violence, radicalism in training, the criminality of family members, and divorce are considered as risk factors, which to response them, some programs are designed and implemented (e.g. parent training, home visitation, family trophy, and integrated approach programs).
