An Inadequate Translation of a Holy Work

One of the most famous Shia prayer-books is Mafateeh-al-Jenan (keys to paradises)that includes a large number of prayers, invocations and Ziaaraat-scripts (texts ofsalutation and supplication used by pilgrims of sacred sites and shrines), collectedby the late Haj Sheikh Abbas Ghomi (may God bless him). Since 1349 Anno Hegirae (c.1930 AD), this book has been repeatedly translated to Persian. Among itstranslations, the work of our dear brother Hujjat al-Islam Mousavi Damghani(published both by Behnashr Publishing Co. and Mashreqein Publishing Co.), aswell as Master Mohammad Bagher Kamareii' s translation (published by Culture andArt Entrepreneur's Publishing Co.) have been more popular for many years. Thisarticle studies a few items of these two translations from a critical aspect.
