Islamic Movement in Occupied Lands of 1948 Palestine

Up to 1980s, Muslims living in occupied lands –more than one million- have participated only in socialist and leftist parties. From this time on, we observe the emergence of Arab parties with nationalistic and tribal approach in occupied lands.As the Islamism wave intensified in the region as a result of the victory of Iranian Islamic revolution, Arabic political currents in Israel were influenced by Islamism discourse. With the emergence of disputes among them, however, the Islamist wing was thendivided into two branches: north (conservative) and south (pragmatist). This study focuses on this Islamic current and its prospects which is unique to its kind.
