Banu Goshasb in National Epics

Banou Goshasp is the only Iranian heroine for whom there is a collection of poem. There are various factors involved in her presence from Shahnameh to Eskandarnameh. These are the reasons behind doing a research on her various dimensions of character in a number of epics. Due to the importance and place of Banou Goshasp, a study of the idea of warrior women is undertaken. There are three questions to answer in this research: 1- If the idea of warrior woman or hero woman is Iranian or non-Iranian? 2- If Banou Goshasb is resultant form the Islamic era or the result of Iranians’ reactions to defend their national identity, how can Gordafarid’s identity in Shahnameh be justified? 3- How is Banou Goshasb’s characteristics symbolized in various epics?
