Two Mythical Points Considering Afrasiab's Dream, the Man-in-Black and the Youth only Two-week Old

Abstract:
Narrating the dreams of the characters in Shahnameh is one of the means of recognizing the themes in it. From among the dreams presented in Shahnameh, Afrāsiāb’s dream is considered more important because of its mythical foundations. Reflecting on its elements, we recognize the primary and legendary form of Siāvash’s epic, through which one can understand the origin of an independent move which is different from Iranian value system. It appears in the form of an epic and undergoes changes in the dreams of characters and has conformed to a newer culture and value system. This paper studies the elements including the black colour of the man-in-black and the young sleeping only two–week old in Afrāsiāb’s dream. It also examines the changes and revolution of these two elements from myth to epic.
