An Investigation on Story Elements of Pahlavi Text of Gozāresh-e Shatranj

Ancient myths, being retold in following ages, lose some of their typical features i.e. god-like characters, super-naturalness and sanctity. Thus totally it remains stories with ancient elements and archetypes. In this research, we inspect story elements in Wizārišn ī Čatrang (ud Nihišn ī Nēw-Ardaxšīr): a story remained out of a myth. These elements include theme, verisimilitude, plot, conflict, characterization, viewpoint, setting and tone of voice. Accordingly we wish to present its narrative features and testify the foundation of narration in ancient Iran and to illustrate its qualities.
