Babur and Humayum's interest towards Iranian Culture and its Consequences

Abstract:
This article studies Babur and Humayun’s interest towards Iranian culture and its effects on their relationship with Iranians. In this article, the impression of Iranian culture on these two foremost kings of Timurid dynasty of India (Mughal dynasty) will be discussed according to available data in historical and literary sources based on descriptive-analytical approach. The question in this study is: What had influenced Babur and Humayun’s relationship with Iranians? This article will conclude that the relationship of these kings with Iranians and the provision of Iranian’s official positions in their court had been affected by Babur and Humayun’s idea towards some epitomes of Iranian culture. Moreover, their concerns for circumstances of that era and the necessity for balance of power between Iranians and non-Iranians will be discussed.
