Political Trust Explanation in Oil Resource-based Countries: Does Oil Wealth Increase Trust?

Political Trust is the main value for all democracies of the world. So, improvement of political trust has a lot of implications for political systems in various areas. Different factors affect increasing such trust. Countries which own oil resources have special situation; Oil wealth has important effects on increasing and decreasing political trust in these countries. The main objective of this research is investigating the role of oil wealth in political trust explanation. Codifying a compound index, in this research we tried to calculate the ranks of countries for political trust, using factorial analysis method. Considering the results of this research, the role of oil wealth is significant in political trust explanation. Also in this research, we tried to investigate most important reasons of decreasing political trust in densely-populated countries that have oil wealth and present some suggestions for improving political trust level in these countries.
