The emigrational function of valley and mountain-laid villages of West of Mashhad township

Abstract:
The valley and mountain-laid villages in the western regions of Mashhad township, located in an altitude of 1400-1900 metres, as situated in valleys and high mountainous regions, have confronted an intensive emigration ratio, compared to other villages. Researches performed in 200 families of 7 sample villages showed that lack of life facilities and plane lands for different applications, especially for agriculture and infrastructures, has resulted in lack of occupation and income for providing life facilities. Therefore the unemployed young population will migrate to nearby cities. As a result, aging of population and weakness of production factors have confronted these villages with reduction of population, and in cases, emptying of some villages, while these villages contain sufficient potencies for economic development, especially by tourism. In such situation, planning and organization of existing capabilities of these villages can help to access sufficient occupation and income to maintain the village population.
