Realistic Narration in Ebrahim Golestan's Stories

The Literary school of realism at the time of its emergence and formation has dealt with the position of reality. Some of the features of this school are about the content of tale، and some deal with features such as engagement with details، embellishment of scene connection، characterization and narrative techniques. Each storyteller would take advantage of a specific prototype in his justifiable style by choosing specific types of justifiable elements in his narrations progress. In this manner all narrative elements are placed on a chain of incidents at the service of the story. The joining of realistic and special narrative techniques in the story result in a narrative style referred to as “realistic narration”. This narrative style was welcomed by storytellers in Iran after the emergence of realism.. One of these people was Ebrahim Golestan، a well-known film director and author who، under the influence of American literature، especially the works of Falkner. has incorporated this style in his stories with an artistic and professional manner. The present paper، after a preface on narratology، structuralism and the evolution of realism from the west to Iran، will concentrate on the connection between these two structural and contextual concepts، studying the characteristics of “realistic narration”، and presenting the existence of this narrative type in some of Ebrahim Golestan’s stories.
