Transitive Past Verb and Ergative Construcation in the Middle Persian, Sanskrit and Persian Text of Dādestān ī Mēnōg ī Xrad

Dādestān ī Mēnōg ī Xrad is Middle Persian language and containts sixty-three chapters. This book belongs to the genre of advice literature. Nēryōsang translated it into Sanskrit in the 14th century. Nēryōsang's Sanskrit is a word-for-word translation and cannot be understood without the studying of the Middle Persian text; its characteristics differentiate it from Classical Sanskrit and make it similar to Iranian Languages.It is necessary to compare it with Middle Persian text and study its linguistic peculiarities. Dādestān ī Mēnōg ī Xrad is translated into Persian in the 18th century A.D. In this paper, transitive past tense and Ergative construcation of Dādestān ī Mēnōg ī Xrad and its methods of translation into Sanskrit and Persian will be discussed.
