Historical Comparative Analysis Through Boolean Approach

In this article, the historical comparative analysis through Boolean approach is discussed. The main problem of the present article is that the traditional methodology merely is not sufficient for development of scientific knowledge. The traditional methodology is based on membership or non membership in a crisp set in which “logical or” plays an important role. The nomological explanation “or” historical interpretation is the evidence of traditional methodology. After a critical discussion about the traditional methodology, we have formulated configurational methodology. The configurational methodology is based on “logical and” in which “or” plays a key role. The historical comparative analysis as an instance of a configurational methodology has been discussed. In the present article, foundations of epistemology, ontology and methodology of comparative historical analysis is presented as follows: configurational epistemology → configurational Ontology → configurational methodology → historical comparative analysisIn the historical comparative analysis, nomological explanation and historical interpretation are present simultaneously. The technical commitments of historical comparative analysis are based on Narrative -Historical analysis and Boolean analysis. The narrative -historical analysis as a technique of historical interpretation and Boolean analysis as a technique of nomological explanation (causal analysis) have been proposed. As a result, should be said, the historical comparative analysis can lead to confirmation and modification of the theory and constructing historical proposition.
