The relationship between emotional intelligence and job burnout and happiness among school principals in Marvdasht

This study was concerned with the relationship between Emotional Intelligence with Job Burnout and Happiness among the Principals of Marvdasht schools. The statistical population of this study was 285 Principals of Marvdasht schools. A sample population of 165 were selected by use of simple random sampling method، and 153 questionnaires were collected completely. The instrument for data collection comprised three questionnaires: emotional intelligence (EI)، Oxford happiness inventory (OHI) and job burnout (by Maslash). In order to analyze thedata Pearson correlation، one sample T test and multiple regressions were used. The findings of the study revealed that: there was a significant negative relationship between emotional intelligence and job burnout a significant positive relationship between emotional intelligence and happiness. There was significant negativerelationship between all aspects of emotional intelligence and job burnout. And two aspects of emotional intelligence (self control and social skills) showed significant positive relationship with happiness. Two aspects of emotional intelligence (social skills and empathy) were able to predict job burnout. All aspects of emotional intelligence except empathy were able to predict happiness. The average of the score of all variables (EI، Happiness and burnout) was lower than standard average score.
