An Analysis of the workshops and conferonces held by the Iranian Library and Information Science Association

The analysis of lectures and conferences held by Iranian Library and Information Science Association (ILISA) can uncover the distribution of subject categories and reveal the historical development and evolution of Library and Information Science in Iran. Using a quantitative and qualitative content analysis، this survey attempts to review and analyze the workshops، lectures، and conferences held by ILISA in its third round، from 1386-1388. Findings showed that out of 162 workshops، lectures، and conferences، 95. 68% are associated with library and information issues and 4. 32% are related to other disciplines. It was also reveald that the growth of workshops، lectures and seminars is good and the subject coverage of them are extended. Content analysis indicated that the majority of workshops، lectures، and conferences held by ILISA focused on cataloging and classification، Internet، publishers and publishing، and bibliometrics. Finally، the issues not addressed in ILISA workshops، lectures، and seminars were also identified.
