The capacity of Management of information systems in fulfilling information needs for managerial decision making in universitie's centeral libraries

Based on a descriptive and analytical study design، the information cycle performance and the viewpoint of managers of the library system were investigated Data were gathered using a valued author-made checklist for direct inspection of the library system performance and a questionnaire for gathering the managers’ viewpoints. All managers of central libraries of universities in Tehran formed the study population. Findings showed that the managers were almost unsatisfied with the library system represented financial information (mean=2. 25). The highest satisfaction was for MIS reports (mean=3. 40). The study recommends providing a specific library system for libraries suited best for the library managers needs.
