The destruction of ammunition, explosives, and propellants by burning and explosion

Destruction of ammunition and explosives which are defected during production, transportation, storage or use, is very important requiring special attention. Immersed in sea water, burning, exploding, buried are common methods of demolition and disposal of explosives. Today, drowned at sea and on land faces many limitations due to environmental sensitivities and decomposition methods are not applicable in many cases and therefore, the explosion and burning are common methods for destroying them. In this paper, the methods of explosives demolition by burning and explosion were studied and their general requirements, limitations, electrical power requirements, sensitivity to the electrical signal and required containers were investigated. Also, destruction of the dangerous components of munitions and explosives such as RDX and PENT, gun powder and propellant were studied.
