Traditional Iranian architecture has always been held up as a model, showing how climatic elements like geometry, orientation, materials, configuration, and spatial structure can be used appropriately for a proper design. Due to the efficiency of this architecture in energy consumption, it is considered as a solution for modern architecture in this field. In traditional Iranian architecture, solutions such as winter and summer residences have been provided to optimize energy consumption in buildings with higher energy consumption. This study aimed to evaluates the energy consumption of traditional houses and measuring the efficiency of these buildings in the energy field. The research methodology with a quantitative approach is the simulation of energy performance. For this purpose, the traditional houses of Mashhad city are divided into three groups, one-way, two-way, and three-way firstly, and one sample is randomly selected from samples. The simulation tools are two plugins, Ladybug and Honeybee, on the Grasshopper platform. The energy consumption results have been compared and labeled based on the residential rate standard of Iran's National Standard Organization. The results show that different types of traditional residential buildings can be in acceptable categories of energy efficiency so that they can get the energy label. Moreover, it was revealed that the winter and summer residence solution in the larger buildings has a significant effect the energy consumption in the desired seasons. The innovation of this case study lies in the heart of its major conclusions, as the conducted analysis can compete with those presented in the literatur.

Today, the possibility of facing problems for which there is no predetermined solution in architecture has increased. Therefore, trying to bringcreativity into problem solving is always vital. The main purpose of this research was to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention of creative thinking techniques in the creative architectural problem-solving process. The present study is practical in terms of purpose. The research method is an experimental with a pre-test and post-test design with an experimental and control group. Finally, the data were analyzed using ANCOVA, MANCOVA, and Bonferroni post hoc statistical tests using SPSS 25 software. The results of data analysis between experimental and control groups show a significant and positive effect of creative thinking techniques on two levels: 1) problem solving creativity and presented solutions, fluidity (F=21.96 and P=0.0001), expansion (F=3.49 and P=0.05), initiative (F=27.31 and P=0.0001) and flexibility (F=9.88 and P=0.001); 2) Creativity in design product (P=0.0001 and P=41.07). Also, the results of the Bonferroni test to examine the pairwise difference show that among the creative thinking techniques, paradigm breaking technique have more effective results than the paradigm stretching and paradigm preserving techniques (mean difference=0.004 and 25.02). By using creative thinking techniques in the he process of solving architectural creativity, it is possible to achieve the growth and promotion of components of creativity (fluidity, expansion, initiative, flexibility) in designers and provide creative solutions in the process of solving architectural problem, which will ultimately result in the design product in the three areas of physical, function and semantic. Also, in the process of solving creative architecture, as we move from paradigm preserving techniques to paradigm breaking techniques, the amount and level of creativity (the solver and the presented solutions-design product) increases.

The nature of citizens’ social and personal relationships is a derivative of their lifestyle. Today, the development of digital platforms and the rapid growth of technology have brought about extensive changes in people's lives, insomuch that their lifestyle is now completely different from what it was in the past. The present article is an attempt to recognize the factors that shape the lifestyle and examine the theories that support the idea to present a comprehensive reading of the concept of lifestyle. Another objective of the study is to identify the characteristics of today's lifestyle and how it influences the urban space. To this end, the research employed the meta-synthesis method. In the first step, of the total 83 relevant sources, 37 were acquired, screened, and selected using the assessment method. Then, the selected sources were coded in MAXQDA 2020 focusing on the research question. A total of 95 codes were extracted and categorized into 4 groups: “characteristics of today's lifestyle”, “forming factors”, “functions”, and “approaches”. According to the findings, the factors forming lifestyle are as follows: Human, temporal, and environmental factors. The most important and influential component of lifestyle is the temporal factor. Due to the alterations in the temporal aspect, nowadays such characteristics as individualism, considerable power of choice, market orientation, and new behavioral patterns are the indices of people's lifestyles. These characteristics have caused alterations in urban spaces such as weakened social interactions, pluralism, status symbols, visualization of signs, and a multiplicity of shopping malls and leisure centers.

Designers and architects design architecture and create ideas by taking the advantage of the design process, and architecture professors play vital roles in this way because they consider design paths and lines of thought for designers and architects and give them the freedom to create creative designs. Undoubtedly, the final output of each designer and architect is related to the thinking of professors who have been or will be under their education. Given that the selection of either convergent or divergent thinking in the design process yields different results and affects the urban landscape and the architecture of any country, the present study sought to investigate the effects of divergent and convergent thinking on architecture creativity education in Iranian universities (case study: Faculty of Art and Architecture, Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST)). The research was applied in terms of purpose and had a mixed-method descriptive-analytical, survey, and case study method. Two tests were utilized to determine the effectiveness of the creativity education process for architecture students, namely Abedi's creativity test (ACT) and Torrance test of creative thinking (TTCT) in divergent thinking, and the Kolb Learning Styles Inventory (KLSI) in convergent thinking. The research data were collected using the field method with ACT, TTCT, and KLSI. The research examined 21 male and female students in the architecture discipline of the Faculty of Art and Architecture, Iran University of Science and Technology. Data analysis was performed using SPSS21. Therefore, the research referred to the concept of education in general, and architecture creativity education in particular, and then discussed education methods and models in architecture in an analytical approach. Finally, the research findings indicated that students with divergent learning thinking had greater creativity.

There are sustainability strategies in nature, which are the key to the survival and stability of components and ecosystems. Not only nature is a source of inspiration, and innovative ideas in solving human problems also is a powerful mentor for designing the built environment in symbiosis with the substrate ecology. Due to nature strategies’ complexities and their interdisciplinary character, the architectural design process needs to be known by nature-inspired framing. With the wide scale of biological information and the lack of recognition of applying nature strategies, a model is needed to use biological strategies in the architectural design process. This research aimed to explore the nature-strategies effective components in the architectural design process, to create a connection between the biological and architectural domains. Using the nature strategies to transfer, and apply them in the architectural domain, as well as how the nature strategies affect and transfer in the field of architecture have been explored by studying the nature-inspired design strategies and the projects and documentation of the experts in this field through theoretical Analysis, focus groups, and also logical argumentation and case study. The analysis of qualitative data was done with Fisher's exact test, and SPSS software was used. The main question of the research has been raised as follows: What are the effective components of nature-inspired strategies and their place in the architectural design process? The research findings show that discovering and explaining the effective nature-inspired design components in the design process creates new paths to reaching innovative designs.
