وجه مشترک و غایت قصوای ادیان ابراهیمی شکوفایی مکارم اخلاقی است از جمله مهمترین فضایل، کاستن از خودخواهی ها و کبرورزی ها و تعمیق تواضع و فروتنی در برابر کائنات و خالق آن هاست. چنانکه یکی از ممیزات مسیحیان از نظر قرآن کریم، خاکساری و فروتنی آنان است. از دیدگاه مسیحیان، خصلت فروتنی در قلب انسان، موجب و برآیند آرامش روحی عمیق و پایدار، عشق به خدا و مردم، شفقت برای همگان می شود، در حالی که غرور، جزو هفت گناهان کبیره و نقش بی نظیری در زنجیره علی گناهان دارد. بررسی تواضع در عهد جدید در این جستار نشان می دهد که رابطه دیالکتیکی عمیقی بین بنیادهای اعتقادی مسیحیان در زمینه های خداشناسی، هستی شناسی، مسیح شناسی و انسان شناسی با الگوهای رفتاری اخلاق مسیحی وجود دارد، این نوشتار با روش توصیفی و تحلیلی به گستره مصادیق و مبانی فروتنی در سه ساحت شناختی، احساسی و رفتاری در عهد جدید پرداخته و الگوی تواضع در زنجیره اخلاق مسیحی را باز بینی می کند.

One of the characteristics of Christians according to the Holy Quran is their humility. From the point of view of Christians, the character of humility in the human heart is the cause and result of deep and lasting peace of mind, love of God and people, compassion and kindness towards everyone, while pride is one of the seven major sins and plays a unique role in the causal chain of sins. A study of humility in the New Testament in this paper shows that there is a deep dialectical relationship between the Christian belief foundations in the fields of theology, ontology, Christology and anthropology with behavioural patterns of Christian ethics. With descriptive and analytical methods, this article deals with the extent and range of examples and foundations of humility in the three: cognitive, emotional and behavioural dimensions in the New Testament and reviews the model of humility in the chain of Christian ethics.

The paper attempts to give a systematic survey of different strands and intentions of “narrative ethics” both in philosophy and in theology and proposes how to develop narrative ethics in the future. This proposal features three different dimensions of the term “moral vision,”, i.e. morally substantial ideas that are embedded in traditions (Moral Vision 1), the appropriation of these ideas by particular historical cultures or individuals (Moral Vision 2) and moral perception channeled by Moral Vision 2 (Moral Vision 3). Narrative ethics, the paper argues, can describe how (religious) traditions can inspire moral thinking and learning without falling prey to traditionalism. Theological ethics is about forming an ethical culture in which we remind each other of the stories that continue to inspire us and in which we tell each other of our moral world-view and commitments, our strong feelings about the good and the bad which are based in our individual and common lives and not derived from grammatical rules or ultimate principles.
