We present the first confirmed report of the Long-snouted Bhutan Squirrel Dremomys lokriah bhotia from the state of West Bengal, India. Previously the subspecies was known from limited localities of East Sikkim (India) and Bhutan. This article, thus, adds to the global knowledge of the subspecies with a note on its habitat and activity pattern, along with new details on it’s current global distribution.

Lactuca adenophora Boiss. & Kotschy (Asteraceae), is reported here as a new record from Nacarouz and Dalanpar Mountains for the flora of Iran. The geographical distribution of the new record and its distinguishing characters plus its detailed photos are presented.

A survey has been carried out for studying the life cycle of butterflies in Bankura district, West Bengal, India. Four new larval host plants of three different species of butterflies together with their life cycles were observed during this survey: Calliandra heamatocephala (Hassk) as new larval host plant of Charaxes solon (Fabricius) and Rapala manea (Hewitson). Litchi chinensis (Sonn) as new host plant of Rapala manea and Hemigraphis hirta (Vahl) (T. Anders) as new larval host plant of Zizula hylax (Febricius).

Trifolium incarnatum L. is reported for the first time for the flora of Iran. It has been collected from Marivan area in Kurdistan province. This species belongs to the section Trifoilium anddistinguished from T. sylvaticum Gerard ex Loisel by the following characters: Dense, large head (about twice as much as the later one) and red flowers. Also it differs from T. stellatum L. by possessing larger leaflets, oblong heads (about two times longer than the later) and red flowers.

This study includes 4 reports of chromosome counts in Tripleurospermum Sch. Bip. belonging to the tribe Anthemideae of the family Asteraceae from Iran. Confirming the reported base number of x=9 for this genus، the species studied include diploid and tetraploid species. Chromosome counts for three species are reported for the first time from Iran.

This article is a taxonomic review after Flora Iranica concerning some species of Bromus sect. Bromus. Comparing the holotype, isotype and paratype of B. pseudobrachystachys with the lectotype of B. brachystachys and also reexamination of three Iranian and Iraqi herbarium sheets putatively determined under the latter’s name showed all belong to the former. B. racemosus, B. arvensis and B. secalinus are confirmed to occur in Iran. Despite B. tigridis was identified from Turkey based on the sheet Sorger & Buchner 82-62-54, the Iranian specimen was identified as B. racemosus. Furthermore, a new record of this section i.e., B. macrocladus is reported here from mountains of Razi village (W Khoy, NW Iran).

Based on investigations of mosses in Iran, a new species, namely, Funaria microstoma Bruch ex Schimp. is found in Ardebil province (NW Iran) which is a new report for the bryoflora of the country. The species belongs to the family Funariaceae under the order Funariales. This world widely distributed family consists of 13 genera and nearly 300 species being found in arctic, temperate and tropical regions. Diagnostic characters, geographical distribution and illustrations are provided herewith.

Among the herbarium specimens, Fuirena pubescens was identified which is the first report of the genus for Iran. Morphological characters, habitat, geographical distribution in the world and Iran are also presented.

In review of Bolboschoenus specimens, B. planiculmis and B. schmidii as new records for Flora Iranica area are described. Morphological characters, habitat, geographical distribution in the world and Iran are also presented.

Corynomorpha prismatica (J. Agardh) J. Agardh (Corynomorphaceae- Florideophyceae) is reported from the intertidal of Bandar Lengeh (Hormozgan province) in the Persian Gulf and Bandar Chabhar (Sistan and Baloochestan province) in the northern Gulf of Oman. The species is a new record for both the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.

Mostafa NematiTrifolium sylvaticum Eig. is reported for the first time for the flora of Iran. It has been collected from Marivan area in Kurdistan province. This species is distinguished from T. stellatum L. by the following characters: Stipules entire, head sessile, corolla short, 8 to 10 mm. long, etc.

Psychrogeton cabulicus which has been collected from Khorasan province is reported as new species to Iran. This species is compared with closely related species, Psychrogeton andryaloides.

Corydalis integra is reported for the first time for the flora of Iran. It has been collected from Marivan area inKurdistan province. The plant is rather characteristic by having undivided tuber, entire bracts, pale purplish flowers, etc.
