Healthy breakfast and snacks play an important role in students’ physical and mental health and education is one of the most effective strategies for improving the nutritional status of children. The aim of this study was to survey the effect of school-based educational intervention on mothers’ behavior with respect to healthy breakfast and snacks for children. In this experimental study, random sampling was conducted and 120 students were selected and divided into two experimental and control groups and their mothers were invited to participate in the study. Samples were examined in two stages through pre-test, and a delayed post-test with a questionnaire that consists of demographic information questions related to knowledge, attitude, perceived benefits, perceived barriers and behavior. Training, lectures and group discussion methods and question and answer with educational aids such as pamphlets were used. Data were analyzed by using SPSS16 and paired t-test, t-test and chi-square analyses were employed. The mean scores of knowledge (6.20±88.30), attitude (1.65±25.95) and perceived benefits (0.29 ±17.95), perceived barriers (2.71±34.70), and behavior of mothers (8.38± 115) in the experimental group significantly increased after intervention (P<0.001). There were significant differences between the two groups in terms of the mean knowledge, perceived benefits, perceived barriers and behavior scores 2 months after the program, except for attitude, and mean scores (P<0.001). Design, implementation and evaluation of interventions for mothers regarding nutritional issues for children to enhance their health are recommended.

Background
Attention to children's nutrition is important; since they are the most sensitive and vulnerable group in the community against malnutrition and food shortages. Therefore, this study aims to design, implement, and evaluate the effect of educational programs based on (philosophy for children) on thinking skills about healthy breakfast consumption of sixth-grade elementary school students in Yazd.
MethodsThe present clinical trial study was performed on 120 sixth-grade students of public schools in Yazd. Data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire in control and experimental groups before and after the educational program.
ResultsThe results showed that the mean score of critical thinking after the intervention (38.7 ± 81.1) in the experimental group (EG) increased compared to before the intervention (29.2 ± 96.4), which was statistically significant (P < 0.001). Based on the results, the difference observed in the mean score of critical thinking, caring, and creative thinking of sixth-grade students before and after the intervention in the two groups was significant (P < 0.001). On the other hand, the mean score of students' critical, caring, and creative thinking in the EG increased. In other words, the designed educational program improved all three skills in the EG. The mean scores of critical, caring, and creative thinking of sixth-grade students in the control group (CG) before and after the educational program in two stages were not significant (P > 0.05).
ConclusionAccording to the obtained results, the implementation of philosophy education programs for children raises the level of critical thinking, caring, and creative skills in students to eat a healthy breakfast. Therefore, increasing philosophical thinking in students and improving the studied skills through education, even virtually, can be very valuable and effective.

زمینه و هدف
صبحانه و میان وعده سالم نقش مهمی در سلامت جسمی و فکری دانش آموزان دارد. هدف از این مطالعه بررسی رفتار و ادراکات مادران از منافع و موانع تهیه صبحانه و میان وعده سالم برای کودکان مدرسه ای می باشد.
مواد و روش هامطالعه توصیفی تحلیلی حاضر در سال 1396 انجام شد. 315 دانش آموز پسر و دختر مدارس ابتدایی به روش نمونه گیری تصادفی خوشه ای انتخاب و از مادران آنها برای شرکت در مطالعه دعوت بعمل آمد. داده ها با استفاده از پرسشنامه ای که شامل مشخصات دموگرافیک، سوالات مربوط به منافع درک شده، موانع درک شده و رفتار بود، گردآوری شد. روایی پرسشنامه به دو روش صوری و محتوایی سنجیده شد. برای تعیین پایایی پرسشنامه مذکور از روش های آزمون-باز آزمون و همسانی درونی استفاده شد. اطلاعات از طریق نرم افزار 16 SPSS و با آزمون های آماری T-tests و ANOVA تجزیه و تحلیل شد.
یافته هابین منافع درک شده مادران با وضعیت اشتغال آنها تفاوت معنی داری وجود داشت (0/001>P-value)، ولی بین منافع درک شده مادران با متغیرهای دموگرافیک دیگر ارتباط معنی داری وجود نداشت (0/05P-value) و تحصیلات همسر (0/001>P-value) وجود داشت و مهمترین موانع درک شده مادران در تهیه صبحانه و میان وعده های سالم: عجله داشتن، نداشتن درآمد و وقت کافی و خسته کننده بودن صبحانه بودند (001/0>P-value).
نتیجه گیریبا توجه به نتایج مطالعه، بهتر است برنامه ریزی ها و طراحی مداخلات آموزشی جهت حل مشکلات تغذیه ای کودکان، در جهت کاهش موانع درک شده مادران باشد.

Data were collected using by questionnaires that included demographic characteristics, questions related perceived benefits, perceived barriers and behavior. Questionnaires Validity were assessed in two ways face and content validity. Test-retest method and internal consistency were used for questionnaires reliability. Data were collected and analyzed by SPSS 16 software and using T-tests and ANOVA.
ResultsThe significant difference between the perceived benefits of mothers and their employment status (p<0.001) but no significant relationship between mothers' perceived interests with other demographic variables (P>0.05). There was a significant difference between mothers' behavior with age (P-value <0.041) and spouse's education (P-value<0.000) and the most crucial perceived barriers among mothers for preparing healthy breakfast and snacks were hurry, not having enough income and time, breakfast as a boring (P<0.001).
ConclusionAccording to the results of the study, it is better to planning and designing educational interventions to solve children's nutritional problems should be done to reduce perceived barriers of mothers.

صبحانه ناسالم و مصرف روزافزون میان وعده های کم ارزش در میان دانش آموزان با پیامدهای منفی سلامت همراه است و با بروز بیماری های مزمن در بزرگسالی ارتباط دارد. هدف از این مطالعه شناسایی تعیین کننده های تهیه صبحانه و میان وعده سالم برای کودکان مدرسه ای در مادران شهر اسلامشهر می باشد.
روش ها320 دانش آموز پسر و دختر به روش نمونه گیری تصادفی خوشه ای انتخاب و از مادران آنها برای شرکت در مطالعه دعوت به عمل آمد. داده ها با استفاده از پرسشنامه ای که شامل مشخصات دموگرافیک، سوالات مربوط به آگاهی، نگرش، فواید درک شده، موانع درک شده و رفتار بود، گردآوری شد. روایی پرسشنامه به دو روش روایی صوری و محتوایی سنجیده شد. برای تعیین پایایی پرسشنامه مذکور نیز از روش های آزمون-باز آزمون و همسانی درونی استفاده شد. ضریب همبستگی درون طبقه ای 73/0 و ضریب آلفای کرونباخ نیز (84/0=α) بود. برای تحلیل داده ها از نرم افزارSPSS16 و آزمون های همبستگی و رگرسیون چندگانه استفاده شد.
یافته هانتایج حاصل از این بررسی نشان داد از میان متغیرهای (آگاهی، نگرش، فواید درک شده و موانع درک شده)، آگاهی ,B=0.40)001/0P<) و موانع درک شده,B=0.33) 001/0P<) پیش بینی کننده های مثبت و قوی تهیه صبحانه و میان وعده های سالم در مادران بودند. در مجموع 28% واریانس مرتبط با رفتار مادران در خصوص تهیه صبحانه و میان وعده سالم را آگاهی و موانع درک شده پیش بینی می کنند.
نتیجه گیریدر طراحی مداخلات تغذیه ای جهت تهیه صبحانه و میان وعده سالم در مادران دانش آموزان بهتر است بر استراتژی های افزایش آگاهی و کاهش موانع درک شده تاکید شود.

The main purpose of this study was to identify the determinants of preparing healthy breakfast and snacks for school children by mothers in the city of Islamshahr.
Methods320 boys and girls were selected by cluster random sampling and their mothers were invited to participate in the study. Data were collected using the researcher-made questionnaire that included demographic characteristics, questions were related to knowledge, attitude, perceived benefits, perceived barriers and behavior. The reliability was assessed through the test-retest method, and in order to assess internal consistency, Chronbach’s alpha coefficient was used. Data were analyzed by SPSS 16 software, and Descriptive statistics (Percent & Frequency), Multiple regression and Kendall’s tau-b correlation tests were used.
ResultsBased on the findings of this study, none of the demographic characteristics had a significant correlation with the behavior of the mother's healthy breakfast and meal (p>0.05) and among variables, knowledge (p<0.001, B=0.40) and perceived barriers (p<0.001, B=0.33) were strong and positive predictors of preparing breakfast and healthy snacks by mothers. Knowledge and perceived barriers predict %28 of variance in mothers’ behavior in preparing breakfast and healthy snacks (p<0.001, R= 0.527, R2=0.278).
ConclusionIt is better to put more emphasis on the strategies to promote the knowledge of mothers and reduce their perceived barriers in designing nutritional interventions aiming to prepare breakfast and healthy snacks for children.
