Reforms in the health sector: " Outcomes for productive health services"

In the past centuries, the health systems were often small units which were mostly private or belonged to charities and had no influence on politics. But in the present century, by applying the health knowledge, these units had significant growth. They have changed their positions. Yet, the changes could be increased especially to the benefit of the poor. It seems that failure to achieve this potential is mostly due to systemic deficiencies. Today, the effective issues such as globalization of the economy, the excessive use of technology, privatization, urbanization along with poverty and the natural disasters, made it difficult to maintain the primary health care achievements. Health sector reform has been known as the targeted and continuous change for improving efficiency, justice in distribution of the health services, effectiveness of the activities and appropriate financing in the health sector. This article firstly, studies the necessity for reforming the health system and its causes. Then, the reform prerequisites and the financial resources have been discussed. Regarding the organizational structures and with the emphasis on decentralization and its effect on the human resources, the reforms were explained. The effect of health reform was also explained through holding equity and changes in decision -making. Finally, the role of health information systems was mentioned.
