effect of acupressure on severity of pain in rheumatoid patient
Backgrand: pain has been identified by rheumatoid arthritis patients as a distressing symptom that interfere their ability to enjoy life and to take care of themselves.complementary medicine is applied in limited study.The purpose of the syudy was to effect of acupressure intensity pain in rheumatoid arthritis patients.
the study was a clinical trial, data were collected in a clinic of rehumatoloy golestan hospital in ahwaz, physician surgery and patient home.amog these patient, 60 were selected fulfilling criteria and randomaly divided to 2 acupressure and control groups. The main outcomes measured were the demographic form and VAS scale that were collected at first and last intervention sessions. Acupressure accomplised with direct finger pressure at 1 minute in Hegu, Quchi, Zusanli and Taichong within 12 session, control group no received complementary treatment in this time. Then data analysis with SPSS version 17 and paired t-test test.
The result of study indicated that between averages of pain intensity in acupressure and control groups pretreatment and after was no significant difference (p=0.813).
However in study indicated that between averages of pain intensity in acupressure and control groups was no significant difference but in context of acupressure more researchs have required.
