An Analysis of the Impact of Mass Media on the Communication Skills among Students of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences

Abstract:
Introduction
Due to the potential impact of globalization, it is expected that individuals, specially educated groups, maintainand strengthen their communication skills in various aspects One of the items influencing communication skills is the usage of mass media. The goal of this research is to evaluate the impact of mass media and mass communication skills on the communication skills among students of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences.
Methods
This is a survey research using questionnaire distributes among the students of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. A smaples of 390 students were selected using the classification method. For analysis the hypotheses we use the regression analysis.
Results
Testing the hypothese showes a relationship between the usage of mass media and communication skills. Students using the Internet and television achieved the high score for communication skills.
Conclusion
Among variables influencing the communication skills, age, the rate of using media, socio economic conditions, educational section, sex and marriage conditions have the largest share.
