Manifestation of Attachment in Parent and Children Relationships based on Islamic Narratives

In recent years, due to the advancement is sciences such as psychology and psychoanalysis, the role of emotional relations, love and attachment among families specially mother and children in health and sickness has received attention. A lot of research studies have proved the fact that parents attention to children and attachment during development is the most important factor in children’s physical and mental health and lack of this attention leads to their behavioral and physical abnormality. The present study is a descriptive analysis of the manifestation of parent’s attachment and kindness to their children in Imam’s lifestyles and manners. In this article, affer a brief definition of attachment first the necessary conditions for the creation of emotional relations between the parents and children before and after birth are provided. Then the narratives of great Imams in this regard are mentioned. The findings of this study show that Islam has put a great emphasis on the kindness towards children at all stages of life and this leads to spiritual perfection and divine rewards. In addition, the findings of this study confirm the study of attachment by Bowlby who states that attachment at the first stage of development is a fundamental factor in cognitive and emotional relations and an important means of achieving social communicative skills.
