Late pregnancy outcome in women with vaginal bleeding in first trimester

Sometimes first trimester Vaginal bleeding occurs due to multiple unknown factors but don’t terminate the pregnancy.Outcomes of these Pregnancies are the subject of debate. This study estimates the outcomes in these Pregnancies, which might be complicated with first trimester vaginal bleeding. this was a prospective cohort study. 236 cases included women gravid 1, 2 with a history of first trimester vaginal bleeding and delivery after 28 weeks of gestational age admitted to ImamHossein hospital during 1388, 1390. Control group included 944 women gravid 1, 2 without any history of first trimester vaginal bleeding within the same period of time. Data were analyzed wasused to estimate relative risk (R.R) and 95% confidence intervals (95%CI) compared with the control group (n=944) women with a history of first trimester vaginal bleeding (n=236) were more likely to have, premature rupture of membranes (R.R=7/5, CI 95%),gestational hypertension (R.R=4/8, CI 95%), abruption (R.R=4/5, CI 95%), low birth weight (R.R=1/9, CI 95%), intra uterine growth restriction (R.R=2/7, CI95%), Apgar at 5 minute <7 (R.R=3/4,CI95%), admission to NICU (R.R=4/3, CI95%). It seems that first trimester vaginal bleeding has affected complications of late pregnancy of mother and infant The effect of interventions in pregnant women with first trimesterbleeding are recommended in the prevention and reduction of late complications.
