The Effectiveness of Cognitive-Behavioral intervention according to Marlatt's method on the Improvement and Relapse Prevention Of Opioid Use

The aim of this research was to evaluate the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral intervention according to Marlatt's method on the Improvement and Relapse Prevention of opioid use.  men Who were addicted to opium participated in the study and were randomly assigned to three groups following detoxification: - Cognitive behavior therapy according to marlatt’s method. - Naltrexone alone. - No intervention or therapy. The experimental group received  weekly session each for  minutes, second experimental group took only naltrexone. In this study, The Opiate Treatment Index (OTI) and The General Health Were used, the end and three month later. Collected data were analyzed with using univariate analysis of Variance with repeated measures and Chi- square tests. Cognitive-Behavioral intervention according to marlatt's method decreases indrug use, somatic symptoms, anxiety, social dysfunctions and increase in health. Cognitive-Behavioral intervention according to marlatt's method was significantly more effective than the other method in increasing, health and promoting of process of relapse prevention.
