The study of geotechnical properties of Migmatite drived residual soils of Simin (south of Hamedan)

Message:
Abstract:
This paper, presents the results of studies on Migmatite drived residual soils of Simin. The method was based on field, physical and mechanical studies in this region. Petrographical studies also conducted on migmatite soil samples. The results of studies suggest SM in unified classification, which has low hydraulic conductivity and medium resistance. Based on XRD analysis, sheet like minerals such as muscovite, chlorite, illite are recognized. The utilize of these soils in concreting and asphalting is not recommended but for making subbase of main roads are suitable. By consideration of environmental conditions and engineering properties of studied soil, the study area has high potential of liquifaction and solifloction. Conceguently, it can be said that soil slopes here make unstable condition for the area.
