A Study of the Role of Female Translators in the Last 100 years of History of Translation in Iran

Abstract:
The present study is to explore the role of female translators in the last 100 years. The research is descriptive، therefore، various tools of data collection، like questionnaire and interview with 54 experience translators، are employed. Data were organized، classified and then were analyzed through SPSS software. The findings indicate that women have played significant role in the in the history of translation and Iranian literature. They were also face with many social، financial and family problems. The favorite area for translation with them was the literature for the children and the main line of translation was English to Farsi. The level of the education of the family member of female translators was an important factor in their success and translators. Also، regarding the obstacles، their education، experience and perseverance have been instrumental for success.
