Effective Predictors on Acceptance of Online Databases by University Faculty Members

This study aimed at determining the effective predictors on the acceptance and using of online databases by faculty members of Islamic Azad University in eightregions based on Roger's Diffusion of Innovation theory. The research method is an analytical survey and data were collected through a questionnaire. The sample included 351 faculty members who were selectedrandomly via stratified sampling procedure. Data analysis was carried out through SPSS (version17). Results showed asignificant difference at the level (p<0.01) which existed between facultyperceptions of online database features of the items. 70% of the acceptance of onlinedatabases was affected by variables such as compatibility, complexity, testabilityand observability. Although attributes such as relative Advantage and compatibility,compared to other variables, were stronger regarding the acceptance of onlinedatabases.
