Study of metadata schema for Image, Sound & Video digital resources and selecting appropriate schema

This research is implemented regarding the examination of metadata schemaparameters in digital recourses and identifying an appropriate method. Thepopulation consists of 10 metadata schema. This pattern was extracted by choosing three digital recourses and assemblage of related templates. This research was implemented by descriptive survey method. We examined the similarity of metadata schema to digital resources storage componentsthrough a checklist. Findings show that METS and PREMIS are the most compatible standards forstorage and retrieval of images, audio and video digital resources. Also there is nounique metadata for all types of digital resources. Regarding to cover the specialfeatures of resources. But we can use MARC, Dublin core and MODS in generaland PB Core for media and VRA Core for visual art. Also we can use MIX forimage resources, technical metadata for audio (Audio-MD) for sound resources,technical metadata for video (Video-MD) for video resources and technical metadatafor text.
