Competence of Orientation of Life, Quality of Life and Perceived Social Support in Predicting Physical Well-being after Allergenic Bone Marrow Transplantation in Leukeamic Patients

Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to study the competence psychosocial factors (orientation of life, quality of life and perceived social support in general) to predict the physical well-being of post-BMT in Leukeamic patients. This research is correlational study. Statistical population is all of patients with acute leukeamia who are conditor for BMT. The data were gathered with 58 patients (38 men and 20 women) aging 18-45 years during 13 months via census procedure. The physical well-being in the subjects were assessed after one, two and three months post-BMT. Data were analyzed by SPSS 16. Statistic data analysis was based on descriptive statistics, univariate, multivariate and regression analysis. Results showed that quality of life and perceived social support predicted physical well-being after BMT. However, orientation of life did not predict physical well-being after BMT. It was concluded that the attention to psychosocial factors prior to BMT and during recovery appeared critical for physical well-being.
