The Impact of Internet Skills on the Professional Skills of High School Teachers in Mazandaran Province

Abstract:
The study aimed to assess the level of internet skills of high school teachers and its impact on their professional skills. Method of research was descriptive survey. The statistical population was all teachers of secondary school (10250 people) which among them, 412 people were chosen based on Kerjecie and Morgan table by using multistage cluster sampling method. In order to collect data, a multiple choice test with 10 questions used to assess Internet skills of teachers (difficulty index=0/46) and a questionnaire with 20 questions to assess professional skills of teachers (=0/85) was used. Data were analyzed by using two independent t tests and ANOVA with SPSS software. Results showed that, Internet and professional skills of teachers were moderate. Also, ANOVA and Schefe post hoc test showed that teachers with high level of Internet skill, had high professional skills. Professional skills of teachers in educational technology (%73/19), instructional design (%63/35), teaching method (%57/77) and academic evaluation (%59/70) was the maximum amount of skills respectively.
