Investigating the Effect of Social Integrity on the Social Participation of the Village Inhabitants (Case Study: Desheh Village in Paveh City)

In present world, the importance of rural development and its vital role in the development of the countries has been rendered explicit to everyone. The specialists and experts in this field believe that the rural development is primarily dependent upon the development of human resources and also benefiting from the village inhabitants’ potentiality and talents. Therefore, the participation of the village inhabitants in the rural development projects is introduced as the authentic manifestation of favorable human behaviors. Taking this perspective as a point of departure, the present paper, investigates the effect of social integrity as one of the major elements of the participation process among various effective variables in social participation among the village. In this survey, the participants of the study are the heads of the families inhabiting in Desheh village were our samle size (190) which selected randomly. Through questionnaire and interview, the data were collected and with the SPSS software package and employing descriptive and inferential statistical methods commensurate with measurement levels of the variables, the data were analyzed.The obtained data revealed that the higher the tendency of the village inhabitants towards each other and the higher the extent of the reciprocal social interaction, the higher the extent of the social participation will be. Also, according to the results obtained from the study the lower the collective conflicts and tribal and ethnic differences among the village inhabitants, the higher social participation will be among them. Based on the results of the multivariate regression, the variable of collective conflicts and ethnic and tribal differences among the village inhabitants with 83per cent, the variable of interaction and reciprocal social interaction among the village inhabitants with 73 per cent and the variable of tendency of the village inhabitants towards each other with 68 per cent, respectively have the highest influence upon theextent of the social participation among the village inhabitants.
