Influence of Hydrothermal Condition on Synthesis and Phase Transformation of Nano-Titania

Message:
Abstract:
In recent years problems of environmental impurities have attracted researchers'' views. Titania has shown high chemical stability and is a nontoxic material with hydrophobic properties. Also it is able to develop self-cleaning surfaces with high photocatalyticpropertis. Hydrothermal synthesis of nano-titania presented high crystallinity، specific surface area and consequently، improving photocatalytic properties. In the present study، titanium alkoxide as Ti precursor، Isopropanol as solvent، water and acid as ctalyst were used. The prepared sol was hold under hydrothermal condition at different time and temperatures. Microstructure، morphology and phase composition of the synthetized samples were studied using XRD and scaning electron microscopy. Results showed increase intensity of the anatase peaks as the time and temperature of the synthesis increased. Also SEM showed presence of titiania particles with spherical morphology. BET analysis was carried out to analyze the photocatalytic properties of the optimum sample
