Motor Skills in the Students with and without Stuttering
The aim of this study was to compare motor skills in students with and without stuttering.
In this ex post facto, 25 students (ageing 6-11 years old) with and 25 students without stuttering were selected through an accessible sampling method. Utilizing Oseretsky Motor- Development Test, the data were collected and analyzed.
A significant difference was found between the scores of the two groups. Also, the results showed some lower skills in children with stuttering.
The findings of this study support the idea that stuttering is frequently associated with some kind of motor problems. This study authenticates the need to pay more attention to motor skills in children with stuttering.
