Investigation of the Effects of Therapeutic Touch on Intensity of Anticipatory and Acute Induced-Nausea in Breast Cancer Women undergoing chemotherapy in Isfahan

Nausea is the worst and prevalent complication of chemotherapy. Reduction of this is one of the most important role of oncologist nurses. The purpose of this research is to Investigate the effect of therapeutic touch on anticipatory and acute induced-nausea in breast cancer women in 2013-14 in Isfahan. This is a randomized control trial، one side blind study containing 3 research groups (control، placebo، intervention) done in Seyed Alshohda hospital in Isfahan 2013-14، the study was constructed by the use of random allocation، intervention of Therapeutic touch on breast cancer women and with same medicine regiment among the 3 groups. The data was recorded by demographic form and VAS at anticipatory and acute phase. Data analysis was done by SPSS،v16 and Sign & kruskalwallis. 41% of patients experienced anticipatory nausea. Findings show that therapeutic touch was significantly effective in reducing intensity of acute nausea compare to control and placebo groups after 24h (p<0/0001). But it was not true about anticipatory nausea. Base on findings educating and implementing of TT plane is proposed for clinical nurses to reduced chemotherapy induced acute mausea.
