The Reduction of Shear Stress by Creating Optimum Extra Groove in Shaft of Pumps
Making the shear stress is one of the phenomena in different sciences such as marine sciences، aerospace sciences، mechanics and… which is considered by many researchers. Shaft of the pumps is one of the cases that in which because of the existence of groove and stress concentration، shear stresses have great importance. This investigation by using the finite element method along with ANSYS software deals with the three-dimensional modelling of considered shaft. In order to show the accuracy of the built model in the state with no groove، a comparison is made with the experimental model that represents the appropriate accuracy of model used in the analysis. Three-dimensional model is made in different states for different geometry conditions and the effect of the extra groove isone of the outstanding points in this investigation. Also، this study in order to reduce the maximum shear stress، by simultaneous using of ANSYS software، genetic algorithm and screening method، deals with determining the optimal locations and dimensions in the extra groove.
