Validity and Reliability of the Persian (Farsi) Version of Nordic Safety Climate Questionnaire (NOASACQ-50

Safety climate is a description of employees'' safety sharedconcepts about safety management. Assessment of safety climate is one of therequirements for promoting safe behaviors in the workplace. Nordic SafetyClimate Questionnaire (NOSACQ-50) is a valid tool for measuring safety climatethat its reliability and validity has been investigated in different languages. The aimof this study was to investigate the reliability and validity of the Persianversion of NOSACQ-50.

In thefirst stage، linguistic validation was done by forward and backwardtranslation. In the next stage، Psychometric validation of the Persian versionof the questionnaire was investigated among 200 employees of a tile and ceramicindustry. Kuder Richardson-20was used for reliability assessment and datawere analyzed by SPSS 19.

Assessment of questionnaire internal consistency showed thatminimum and maximum value of Kuder Richardson were for workers’ safety priorityand risk non-acceptance (0. 648) and management safety empowerment (0. 926) dimensions’ respectively. The quantity of Kuder Richardson for all dimensionsof questionnaire was 0. 942.

Linguistic validity and reliability of Persian version ofNOSACQ-50 was acceptable for measuring safety climate.
